Why people pay more for ceramic
Darkness and heat rejection are not the same thing. A dark dyed film mostly blocks visible light. Ceramic films are built to block infrared, the part of sunlight you feel as heat. That matters in Florida, where front side windows can't legally go very dark.
Reading the spec sheet
- VLT (visible light transmission): how much light gets through. Lower is darker.
- TSER (total solar energy rejected): the best single number for overall heat rejection.
- IR rejection: often quoted high, but measured in different ways by different brands, so compare TSER when you can.
- UV rejection: most quality films block about 99%.
Is it worth it?
If you park outside, drive a lot in daytime or have a black interior, many owners find ceramic worth the extra cost. If you mainly want privacy on rear glass, a carbon film may be enough. The installer can show you samples and a heat lamp demo.

Common questions
Does ceramic tint interfere with my phone or GPS?
Ceramic films are non-metal, so they are designed not to interfere with signals.
Is ceramic tint darker?
No. Ceramic comes in a range of shades, including light ones. Its advantage is heat rejection at a given shade.

Window Tinting Ocala is a free referral service, not a tint shop. We do not install window film ourselves. Requests are passed to independent tint installers in the area who set their own prices, choose their own film, do the work and are fully responsible for it and for any warranty. Ask any installer about film brand, warranty, price and Florida tint limits before you book.
